proof of life, virtually
When last we left my struggle with and against The Pile it was virtually a tower of tapes and discs, slighly dusty from age, and gathering mass.
It appears to have reached enough critical mass for a virtual existence.
This week it sent and received e-mail, made purchases (expensive ones) on e-bay, and has developed a very respectable grasp of English language (for an ESL speaker or seemingly inert pile of plastic).

Don't those teachers very often love jogging?.
Do you hate shaving badly?.
Mr. Hanson isn't practicing working..
I didn't love dancing for two hours..
Did those students miss eating last winter?.

They aren't enjoying running..
Have the managers already loved shouting?.
John was enjoying sleeping near the tree..
Were those pilots practicing praying?.
Cathy hasn't practiced reading yet..
I don't miss jumping for three or four weeks..
I didn't hate dancing last night at eleven..
You know, for the last few months, John's been traveling around the country talking about his positive, optimistic vision for America, talking about his plan to move this country in the right direction..
Lawrence had already liked dancing..
That dentist is not enjoying writing near my home..
